Some Final thoughts

We left John O'Groats at 9.20am and after catching some Haggis on the way home in Inverness we arrived back in West End at 11.20pm.

We have to thank the many people who supported us, both before and during the adventure, your messages of encouragement meant so much and we were grateful for every text, comment and call. Thanks also go to Deon Tucker for designing and helping with the blog page, and also to Andy and Kate Morrison for the fridge and gas cooker used on the trip.

The journey may be over but the memories live on, please check the blog for video updates of the trip which hopefully should be uploaded over the next few days.

  1. Just read the whole Blog from beginning to end (in case I'd missed some bits).
It tells the story of our adventure really well and I'll look forward to reading it again in the future. I'd like to thank Kelvin for working hard on the updates at the end of each long hard day (I forgive you for posting the Borat photo) and for him to realise that we couldn't have done the ride without him. He had a vital role, kept us well fed and watered all the way. Although he had a van, we were never far behind and he was always ready for us at each stop. Thanks mate. Also 'hats off' to Russ & Stuart. They were clearly in a lot of pain for much of the ride because of their injuries but courageously battled on to the very end. I'm impressed and pleased but not surprised because I know how tough and competitive they are. I enjoyed our adventure very much and couldn't have asked for better company. Missing it already :). 2. WOW!!! It was so good to see the grand finale photos today & read the updates. It's been a fun "ride" as we've followed your progress throughout the week. (but thankfully much less painful than your ride!) We are full of awe & admiration for your stamina & dedication to this wonderful cause.
(Ollie, stu has informed me that he needs a new bike after seeing all the photos!! Steph was happy to see you again & was thrilled to be able to meet up with you during your adventure.)
Congratulations to you all for an amazing achievement which will benefit the kids at Chase. And congrats to Leisa & all the wives who survived the week at home & all the hours of training & preparation beforehand!!!
